For Siddhartha Katiyar, music was never just a hobby. It was a passion that slowly transformed into a profession after years of learning, experimenting, facing doubts and, most importantly, believing in himself.

Born in Kanpur, Siddhartha is the son of Asim Katiyar, an engineer, and Shail Katiyar, a homemaker. He studied at DPS Azad Nagar, Kanpur, and completed his graduation. Like many youngsters of his generation, Siddhartha grew up surrounded by computers, video games and music. What he didn’t know at the time was that these childhood interests would eventually shape his professional journey.

A Childhood Around Computers and Music

As a child, Siddhartha was fascinated by video games and computers. He enjoyed exploring software, downloading games and experimenting with different programs. At the same time, music was becoming an equally important part of his life.

Growing up, he listened to almost every genre—from Bollywood music to English tracks. His curiosity about music eventually took him beyond simply listening to songs. He began experimenting with music production, creating remixes and learning how music could be created and transformed using technology.

For several years, he produced remixes without really knowing where the journey would take him.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

The Video That Changed His Direction

One day, Siddhartha watched a DJ performing and mixing remixes. The experience instantly inspired him.

He realised that the music he had been creating on his computer could become something much bigger—a live experience that could connect with people.

That was when he decided to learn DJing.

He began teaching himself the craft, understanding mixing techniques, experimenting with different sounds and gradually developing his own approach to music. What started as curiosity slowly became a serious pursuit.

Today, that journey is still continuing.

When Nobody Believed

Behind every success story is a period when the dream seems almost impossible.

For Siddhartha, the beginning of his music journey was not easy. When he decided that he wanted to become a DJ, not everyone around him believed that he could turn it into a successful career.

For him, DJing isn’t simply about playing songs. It represents years of learning, experimentation and a passion that started long before he ever stood behind a DJ console.

His early interest in computers gave him the technical curiosity. His love for music gave him the inspiration. And persistence gave him the confidence to turn the two into a profession.

His Message to the Next Generation

According to him, no profession is truly difficult when you stop treating it as a hobby and start pursuing it with discipline, commitment and passion.
