Meet Hannah Sarah Abraham, the 22-Year-Old Author Behind the Dark, Haunting Novel Everyone’s Talking About

admin By adminJune 14, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

It all started with a song.

While listening to Alan Walker’s Faded on loop, 22-year-old author Hannah Sarah Abraham pictured a girl in a white frock, drenched in blood, standing in eerie silence. That haunting visual became the seed for Children of The Dead, a gripping psychological mystery that’s making waves in indie literary circles.

Set in a children’s home in Maranello, Italy, the novel follows Laura, a determined young girl, and Luca, her childhood friend, as they try to uncover the truth behind the sudden disappearance of Laura’s twin sister, Giulia. The authorities have stopped looking. Whispers of scandal circulate. But Laura won’t give up.

As the investigation unfolds, dark secrets emerge—ones that were never meant to see the light of day. Visions begin to torment Laura. Time is slipping away. And by the end, nothing is quite what it seems.

But this isn’t just another mystery novel.

“I write for those who are forgotten—girls, children, the invisible ones,” Hannah tells India Buzz Now.

Children of The Dead explores more than suspense. It sheds light on the cruelty faced by vulnerable children, especially those failed by the very systems meant to protect them. And that’s no coincidence—Hannah’s fiction often carries the weight of lived injustice.

Currently pursuing her Master’s in English Literature at Anna Adarsh College in Chennai, this young Malayali writer draws inspiration from poetry, music, and social issues. Her first novel, T.E.A.R.S., tackled the complexities of identifying oneself as queer and the diversities of sexuality and modern relationships. Now, with her second, she’s delving even deeper.

What makes her stand out? It’s the honesty in her voice. Hannah doesn’t sugarcoat pain. Her writing is raw, lyrical, and fearless, touching on caste, religion, gender, and identity without flinching.

“I don’t chase trends,” she says. “I chase truth.”

Music fuels her creativity. Literature sharpens her pen. And purpose guides every chapter she writes.

So if you’re looking for a book that goes beyond page-turning suspense and into the heart of what it means to be human, Children of The Dead belongs on your shelf.

Because in Hannah’s world, fiction might be imagined—but the silence it speaks of is very, very real.
